it's that or plow into the ground because the pilot does F-all unless I'm controlling him and the fighter pilot gets to control his plane the whole time. Yeah, I do actually - given how many damned crew skill points it took to get them there. Out of maybe 30 bomber encounters I've only had 2 do any amounts of damage to me, and while it pisses me off that they can do it at all, it's really not that bad right now. Anyone with some decent understanding of how to attack bombers (basically don't sit on their xxx) can kill a bomber without taking any damage. Thankfully, however, it hasn't quite reached that point. Gunshipping cannot be allowed to happen, especially if it's accomplished by the player simply allowing their aimbot AI gunners to do all the work. Anyone with some decent understanding of how to attack bombers (basically don't sit on their ass) can kill a bomber without taking any damage. Those I've had trouble with have been the boom-and-zoom FWs and 109s - those are a major pain in the neck - but pretty hard to do when I'm away from the AA fire (I fly my B25s low and tree height - which is why I maxed out my gunners' skills, so I can leave them to it).Īnd you think being able to successfully kill someone by not doing anything is balanced, or fair?

I think they've made gunners less prone to being killed, which is good because those tailgaters are finding it much harder to kill bombers now. AA fire is far more effective at taking out bombers, but then you'd expect that with the calibre of ammo they use and those german AA guns have a NASTY rate of fire too. Most B25s I've seen lost have been either flying too high or (more usually) shot down by AA fire. By flying low, you eliminate the risk of a fighter getting under you. ignoring the fact that I'm shooting AP rounds at their engines for the most part, since they're up front of their planes. Those I managed to kill have been those idiots who decide to sit on your tail and expect my gunners to take a break while they do so. What I´ve seen is people sitting on a B-25´s tail (mostly playing the USMC Corsair nowadays so that´s what I see in my tier).Īgreed - I fly the B25 as one of my slots and I've been shot down pretty often by fighters (or so badly damaged that I have to dump my bombs and rtb or end up crashing).
