But the production quality itself sounds closer to what you'd expect from small time video game composers at the time. It does kinda sound like something Wakeman would make. There's pretty much no info about this on the internet as far as I can tell. I have no idea if the Sega CD redbook audio is the Rick Wakeman soundtrack. I can't find any rip from the FM Towns version to listen to anywhere so I have nothing to compare with. Only this soundtrack is allegedly exclusive to the FM Towns version, and was excluded from the others for licensing reasons. As it turns out there was an alternate soundtrack for the game written by Rick Wakeman. I only thought about looking it up recently. But like any sensible person did in those days I also tried playing the game disc in a regular CD player, and to my surprise there was an entirely separate redbook soundtrack in there which is nowhere to be found in the game itself. The actual music in the game itself seems to be module-based (not surprising considering the Amiga version it is derived from) with some typical dance music.

There's the FMV intro establishing the dystopian cyberpunk premise of course, but in the manual you'll also find tons of superficial stuff like describing the entire solar system the fictional world is set in, planet by planet.īut the most perplexing of all is the music. It's like they spent a disproportionate amount of time on worldbuilding for such a barebones game. Had the game back in the day with the manual and everything. It's a very by the numbers shmup with FMV backgrounds.
